Expertise in a wide range of procedures

No matter what type of surgery you may require, you can be confident in the abilities of our surgeons. Fallon Clinic surgeons have been at the forefront of utilizing the latest minimally invasive surgical techniques, including laparoscopic surgery, to help their patients.

In fact, one of our surgeons was the first to perform a laparoscopic colectomy, a laparoscopic common bile duct exploration and laparoscopic adrenalectomy in all of New England. Our surgeons were also the first in Central Massachusetts to utilize the da Vinci™ Surgical Robot to perform certain minimally invasive procedures, including a robotic-assisted laparoscopic prostatectomy as well as a robotic-assisted laparoscopic hysterectomy. In each instance, the surgeries were highly successful and patient recuperation and return to normalcy was excellent.

Patients at Fallon Clinic can count on the very best in laparoscopic surgical care. Today, approximately 40% of the surgeries performed in general surgery at Fallon Clinic are now conducted using minimally invasive laparoscopic procedures. There are a number of benefits to the patient in performing this type of surgery. In each instance, our surgeons thoroughly evaluate the patient’s individual health condition and needs to determine the most appropriate course of treatment.

Fallon Clinic also has a very strong program in oncologic (cancer) surgery. Our fellowship-trained surgical oncologist specializes in treating cancer of the breast, gastrointestinal tract, liver, pancreas, bile ducts and other cancers. At Fallon Clinic we can also perform less invasive procedures for cancer treatment, including sentinel node biopsies and Radio Frequency Ablations (RFAs). Minimally invasive treatment for cancer has been proven to be highly effective, and Fallon Clinic is committed to utilizing these new treatment options to diagnose, stage and treat a wide range of cancers.
