Compassionate Care for the Treatment of Breast Cancer

This an important time to focus on a disease that affects over 200,000 American women each year. In order to help women better deal with the physical and emotional symptoms of this potentially life-threatening illness, Fallon Clinic formed the Breast Care Center.

Led by an outstanding team of physicians and nurses, the Breast Care Center combines the latest medical treatments with critical support programs that help patients deal with every aspect of this disease. Most importantly, the Breast Care Center offers a uniquely personal and caring environment that supports patients through every step of diagnosis, treatment and recovery.

One of the keys to successfully treating breast cancer is early detection. Which is why we urge all women 40 or older to have regular mammography screenings. The Fallon Clinic Department of Mammography performs thousands of mammograms a year and plays a key role in the fight against breast cancer. The Department of Mammography also works closely with the Breast Care Center in diagnosing cases of breast cancer. You can learn more about the early warning signs of breast cancer here.

An Expert Team of Caregivers

For patients who have been diagnosed with breast cancer, the Breast Care Center offers a multi-disciplinary team of specialists that includes medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, radiologists, pathologists, general and plastic surgeons, nurses, nutritionists and social workers. Collaboration among our team of experts allows extensive review of treatment options, allowing patients to receive the best course of treatment and follow-up care. Our physicians also work closely with patients to determine the most suitable care options. After a treatment plan is agreed upon, we carefully coordinate dates for surgery, radiation, chemotherapy, and other treatments.
